How did your understanding of your terms with your group, help you to devise ideas?

Working in a group helps in understanding the given task because every member has his own vision. As a result exchange of views leads to wide range of directions to move and develop the idea.

What primary and secondary research could be beneficial to developing your idea?

In my opinion, photography and sketching could benefit most as a way of primary research in developing idea. In other words, photos quickly collect information and sketches brings your own vision on the object. Books, journals and pieces of art and design helps in moving trough the developing process. Written sources maximises the amount of new information, and they are easily accessible. And art often contains of author's vision and could be interpreted by the viewer.

Consider how location, audience, scale, timeframe, message + documentation/distribution are factored in to your idea.

Every criteria from the list is needed to support your idea. I believe that the scale (from huge to tiny) can strengthen the meaning of the piece. Location and time make sense of the audience, who sees the performance, or sculpture, or poster, and so on. Timeframe makes the idea more specific, spot it to the event.

Thank How did working in group help in getting broader perspective? What did the discussion with your peers provide you with?

Working in a group helps clearly understand task was given. Everyone from our team said his opinion and all together we made a conclusion. When the task was to imagine world without sight, firstly I thought only about lack of design and art, but after the discussion we've decided that there this world doesn't even develop. Everyone has his own experience which helps to discuss the issue multilaterally.

How do you think design and art can help shape the future?

Instead of making life easier arts and design could become one of the few spheres, where human brain is needed. Nowadays technologies getting more and more perfect. So it's easy to imagine that jobs for engineers, economists, drivers, doctors etc would disappear with the development of technology. But machine can't create a piece of art.

Was your outcome successful?

As it was the first pitching session, I felt nervous, but the given time help me prepare for a public talk. Consequently, the outcome helped me feel more comfortable talking about my piece.

How did your peers react?

Some of my group liked the way of visualization. They said that it’s clearly to understand the idea. Also they mentioned that it’s weird and uncomfortable to live under the roof made from hair. I liked to hear critics. Another suggestion was to think about some details.

Did you clearly communicate the concept and capture people’s imagination?

It seems that my idea was understood by others.

Identify 3 successful strategies used by others for ideas development, visualization, and presentation and consider how these strategies may be applied to your own work?

The first thing I’ve mentioned was using sounds in a presentation. It created an atmosphere of the work. Secondly, I understood, that sometimes using text is unnecessary, if the presentation gives enough information to visualize an object. Thirdly, 3D elements emphasize the main idea, help to concentrate on it.

What did I learn about taking iterative approach?

Today's exercises were kind of unusual work, as a result a little challenging. Firstly, repetition helped me better to understand the details of the idea. Secondly, it allowed me to look at the work from different sides.

How did I feel about being given feedback from another student?

For me it's always exiting to hear the opinion about something I've maid. In my opinion, in every review should be a little of critics to push author for improvement. But feedback for my piece didn't mention limitations.

What did the feedback change in your work?

Telling the trough, it wasn't helpful, but if I were giving the feedback on my work, I would mention that building could be seen just from one side. So I've showed it from another side.

What did I learn visualisation means?

Visualisation is a drawing, 3D model, film, collage etc that allows to see the idea (visually). Visualisation helps to understand the scale of an object, the material it is made from, form, colour, weight, atmosphere, location and so on.

How do materials + techniques help visualisation?

Techniques and materials help express all needed factors, describing on object (see above).
