When I finish the diagram, I realize that both of the directions I have chosen (restoring the heritage in the art Nouveau style and creating a universal building from simple figures, based on the theory of constructivism) really catch me, make me dive into thoughts and match my profile. It seems that the project about constructivism can have more development. Here you can not only delve into the theory and search for references, but also create your own interpretation. Also, in modern realities, people appreciate mobility, the ability of objects to have a semi-functional function, which is why this direction in art and architecture differs.

REFLECTION / 15.02.2020
Today I created the first version of project proposal. It seems to me that it is quite difficult to accurately formulate tasks and plans, without understanding the final idea and the expected result. Despite this, I now understand the time frame of my future research more clearly, which will be facilitated by the plan.

Today, I thought that this layering of two different merges in the same building resembles a layer cake. Tectm way as the soil in every age are different, so m architecture zapechatlet osinovoye features of the time in which it exists. My idea is to perhaps add another layer typical of our time.
Then I realized that for me constructivism is associated with a brick. Therefore, to create a model, I would like to use red clay, which will help to create a feeling of rough brick surface. To display art Nouveau, I would like to use some clay that will be covered with glaze, to create a glossy glossy surface that can create a contrast with the red color.
Modernity can be represented by something rigid, such as metal or concrete. But it is not necessary to weigh down the structure, so the glass could also be combined with these materials to dilute the rigidity of the rest of the structure.

Today's work in the group showed me how many topics intersect among the selected themes. Despite the similarity of projects, I was struck by how different research is. I found it very interesting that for projects related to the preservation of history and restoration, the materials found were not from antiquity, but from times closer to the present. I wanted to find more information about the renovation process itself. That is, pay attention not to what architectural structures are being built, but to how they are done, what they take as a basis, and what they sacrifice.
THEMES OUR GROUP CAME UP WITH:
1. redevelopment; 2. repetition; 3. greenery; 4. contrast and shape; 5. concrete; 6. ruins; 7. constructing the form; 8. geometry - art; 9. pattern.

Go back to your plans, have you done everything? Have you changed any aims in your brief? How is your idea development going? What will you focus your energy next week?
Looking back to the plans I had for the previous weeks I will say I finished most of them. The only thing I need to work on is completing workflow and the research page. I haven’t changed the ends of my brief, therefore through the project I am becoming more confident that I have correctly set goals and defined the project's path. I think that’s the most important part for the end of this week and next week is model making that for today and tomorrow I’m planning to finish the existing part of the building. During the next week I would like to develop an idea and come up with a final concept of the new construction, understand the materials to be used and plan the time to finish the model before Easter brake.
REFLECTION / 08.03.2020
Today, I finished working on a paper model of an existing building, so that I can now start making the superstructure. I think the right decision was to choose a large enough size for the model (about 650 x 120 x 250 mm), so that you could work out the new architectural composition in more detail, so that it turned out more accurately.
Initially, when creating a sketch model, I used two colors of paper (black and white) to create a contrast between the two eras, architectural styles. But later it turned out that I highlighted in black not only the original building in the art Nouveau style, but also the part of the tower that has a different rounded shape from the entire structure. Now I think this decision is not quite correct, because it turns out that the main element of constructivist construction is connected with the opposite style by color. In designing the final model, I will take this into account and reproduce the buildings in accordance with their historical time of construction, not with a personal desire to "add a little more color to balance the composition".

Today I have a progress tutorial, before which I visited the Chelsea Design Center, where the first days of London design week are held. It presents the main trends in the development of interior and landscape design, companies known all over the world, collectible furniture and exclusive decorative items. Despite the fact that for the most part this is an expensive segment, many companies are focused on reasonable consumption, environmental friendliness (very often you can see fabrics made from recycled materials).

The situation in the world has worsened, and it was decided to return to St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, what is happening has a psychological impact. If in London libraries, places where people gather, exhibitions, museums, galleries are already closed, and people are advised not to go out at home, then in St. Petersburg the government's position is quite calm. Despite this, many people voluntarily go to self-isolation, which is why a huge number of (even the smallest) stores, exhibitions and cafes are closed. Now it is very difficult to find a place where all the necessary materials are sold. If we take into account the fact that in Russia there are not so developed workshops for public use, it is now almost impossible.
Perhaps this situation will also affect my project. I think my first task in the near future will be to contact the owners of the building to visit and explore the place again while (if) it is still possible. You also need to think about what materials can be used at home.
